Four minutes is the honest answer for most of Fairhill: the drive to 3115 Germantown Avenue is shorter than the time it takes to find the van six feet of kerb on a one-way block. We do come out, at the same $250 to $450 for a windshield and $200 to $500 for side or rear glass, and for a car that genuinely cannot move it is the right call. For everything else, the bay is quicker and the result is better.

Mobile fitting needs three things: room beside the vehicle, room in front of it, and a couple of still, clean minutes while the bonding surface is open. Fairhill's streets give you the first two rarely and the third almost never. The blocks are narrow, one-way and parked solid on both sides, the cross streets carry more traffic than their width suggests, and Lehigh Avenue is a working truck route with nothing gentle about it. Standing a van alongside a car on most of these blocks means occupying the only running lane, which is neither safe nor fair on everybody behind us.
So we are straight with people about it. If the car drives, bring it in; you will be here in less time than the van takes to load. If the car cannot be driven, because the windshield has a crack through the driver's view or a window is out and it is raining, then the van comes and we work around the constraints: pick the least busy end of the block, put the van between the traffic and the open bodyshell, and keep the aperture masked until the pane is ready to go down. Side and rear glass outdoors is comfortable work in almost any conditions. A bonded windshield at a Fairhill kerb is doable, and it is still second-best to an hour indoors four minutes away.
“Excellent job and great professional service. Dropped my car off 8am and it was done within two hours. Pricing for my window replacement was the most reasonable in the city of Philadelphia. Highly recommend.”

This is the one part of the service area where we routinely talk customers out of mobile work, and it is because of the geometry rather than the effort. On a block off 4th or 6th with cars parked to both kerbs, the space beside your vehicle is a lane that somebody is trying to drive down. On 5th Street itself there is trade traffic and double-parked delivery vans all day. Meanwhile the shop is a handful of blocks away with a roof over it, a still atmosphere for the urethane, and a proper vacuum for the glass in your door cavity. The one exception worth calling out is a work vehicle standing in a yard or a lot: that is ideal ground, and we will happily come to it.

Honestly, in most of Fairhill the answer is that we would rather you came to us, and it is four minutes. If the car genuinely cannot move, we look for the widest point of the block or the corner, position the van to shield the open side of the car, and work from there. It is doable for a door or rear glass in almost any weather. For a windshield we will tell you plainly whether the spot is good enough, because the alternative to saying so is a bond laid down in grit and traffic wash.
No. The figure quoted on the phone is the figure whether the work happens at the bay or at your vehicle: $250 to $450 for a windshield, $200 to $500 for side, quarter or rear glass. What changes outdoors is not the price but the conditions, and therefore sometimes the safe drive-away time. Since Fairhill is minutes from the shop, the reason to choose mobile here should be that the car cannot be moved, not that it saves money, because it does not.
